  • ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is part of an integrated system of health care known as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that has an uninterrupted system of development dating back thousands of years in China and other parts of South-East Asia. Acupuncture takes a holistic approach to understanding and disease processes. Does Acupuncture Really Work? The short answer is “Yes”. Most people are skeptical at first. The idea of sticking needles into the body to make you feel better just doesn’t sound right. But my first acupuncture treatment was a revelation ! After bashing my head against a tree in a skiing accident at Falls Creek, I visited an acupuncturist, chiropractor in Brisbane in 1980. I was very curious to see if the needle insertion would be painful since I hated needles. But I quickly discovered that hardly anything more than tiny pinch when the ultra- thin and more slender than a human hair are inserted. Most of the time I now know that nothing at all is felt upon needle insertion. The second thing I noticed was how deeply relaxed, I felt when I was on the massage table when the needles were inserted. The feeling lasts for hours and days even though the needles are removed after 30 minutes. In addition to feeling relaxed, I also felt healthier and more relaxed than I had in a long time. And WOW after 30 minutes in treatment, I left that clinic and had so much pain relief and energy that I ran around the block not once, but twice. Maximum benefits are always gained by a course of acupuncture treatments and naturopathy follow-up appointments..                 Some Conditions Treatable with Acupuncture-

  • Herbalism

I have been fortunate to have gained 30 years experience, studied and gained a masters degree and practiced Chinese herbal medicine in China and Australia. A herbalist is a person that studies herbal medicine, the healing properties of plants. Plants produce chemicals which have healing properties under certain conditions. They are natural and form the basis of the medications that are produced and sold to the public as natural herbal formulas. Herbalism is known to have existed 60,000 years ago with the Neanderthal civilization. Today it is probably the most popular form of natural medicine because herbal remedies have been tested over thousands of years and their therapeutic properties are known worldwide. Modern research has improved clinical accuracy due to quality control and dosage knowledge. Herbals can interact with pharmacy medications, so you should always check with your physician if unsure. I sell herbs in tablet and liquid form which takes the effort out of boiling herbs in the raw form which can taste absolutely awful and take heaps of time to prepare. Herbs are more natural, where as pharmacy medications derived from herbs are synthetically made in a lab and therefore delivers medication which the body rejects due to its unnatural makeup. Medications can create bio-film or a barrier which creates bio-slime which acts to disguise and band-aid diseases to manage heath concerns. Only natural products such as herbs, homeopathic drops, nutritional formulas deal with the best presentation and most available form to penetrate and cure disease. With herbal medicine or any other type of chemical natural therapy, patience is required to achieve optimum results. “There is no such thing as a quick fix” The most basic health problems take at least 3 months time.

  • Nutrition

Nutrition- Bringing Your Maximum Wellness Naturally Do you watch what you eat ? Is your diet providing providing all the vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and amino acids ? The fast, stressful  lifestyle we all lead may be depleting your reserves Faster than you are replenishing them. Maybe the foods you eat are not providing balanced nutrition ? The food you buy may look fresh, but if it is grown with chemical fertilizers and sprays in poor quality soil, you may be getting more toxins and less nutrition from your diet than you realise. The more chemicals ingested, the more work your body has to do. The body may develop intolerances and absorption of food nutrients becomes inadequate or impossible. This can also happen from too much caffeine, sugar, alcohol or yeast which results weight gain, chronic fatigue, anxiety and depression. Peter says
“ I take time to really listen to my patients and to really appreciate what is going on in their life. It is most important to understand the underlying cause of illness, not just treat the symptoms. I may advise some diet changes- no wonder diets or terrible tasting foods- just simple adjustments using your own favorite foods and favorite Gotham steel pan cookware .
With our Whole Body Health Scan we get a complete nutritional profile of what your body needs  so that you will enjoy optimum health without niggling complaints.
